Privacy Policy

DANDELION STITCHERY PRIVACY POLICY:

This Privacy Policy describes how and when we collect, use, and share information when you purchase an item from our shop, contact us, or otherwise use our services.

This Privacy Policy does not apply to the practices of third parties that we do not own or control or any third party services you access through our shop.

THE INFORMATION WE COLLECT:

In order to fulfill your order, you provide us with certain information, such as your name, email address, postal shipping address, payment information, and the details of the product that you’re ordering. You may also choose to provide us with additional personal information if you contact us directly.

When you browse our shop, we also automatically receive your computer’s internet protocol (IP) address in order to provide us with information that helps us learn about your browser and operating system.

When you give us permission to conduct email marketing, we may send you emails about our shop, new products and other updates.

WHY WE NEED YOUR INFORMATION AND HOW WE MAY USE IT:

We rely on a number of legal bases to collect, use and share your information, including:

  • As needed to provide our services, such as when we use your information to fulfill your order, to settle disputes, or to provide customer support;
  • When you have provided your affirmative consent, which you may revoke at any time, such as by signing up for our email list;
  • If necessary to comply with a legal obligation or court order or in connection with a legal claim, such as retaining information about your purchases if required by tax law; and
  • As necessary for the purpose of our legitimate interests, if those legitimate interests are not overridden by your rights or interests, such as providing and improving our services. We use your information to provide the services you requested and in our legitimate interest to improve our services.

SHOPIFY:

Our shop is hosted on Shopify, Inc. They provide us with the online e-commerce platform that allows us to sell our products and services to you. Your data is stored through Shopify’s data storage, databases and the general Shopify application. They store your data on a secure server behind a firewall.

PAYMENT:

If you choose a direct payment gateway to complete your purchase, then Shopify stores your credit card data. It is encrypted through the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). Your purchase transaction data is stored only as long as is necessary to complete your purchase transaction. After that is complete, your purchase transaction information is deleted. All direct payment gateways adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers. For more insight, you may also want to read Shopify’s Terms of Service or Privacy Statement.

YOUR RIGHTS:

If you reside in certain territories, including the EU, you have a number of rights in relation to your personal information. While some of these rights apply generally, certain rights apply only in certain limited cases as described below:

  • Access. You may have the right to access and receive a copy of the personal information we hold about you by contacting us using the contact information below.

  • Object. You can object to (i) our processing of some of your information based on our legitimate interests and (ii) receiving marketing messages from us after providing your express consent to receive them. In such cases, we will delete your personal information unless we have compelling and legitimate grounds to continue using that information or if it is needed for legal reasons.
  • Complain. If you reside in the EU and wish to raise a concern about our use of your information (and without prejudice to any other rights you may have), you have the right to do so with your local data protection authority.
